WITHOUT LIMITS (Pre’s movie)

You have to wonder at times what you’re doing out there. Over the years, I’ve given myself a thousand reasons to keep running, but it always comes back to where it started. It comes down to self-satisfaction and a sense of achievement.

I saw Pre’s movie last night and I loved it. I loved how the movie was sprinkled with the quotes I had read before everywhere else, now in context. It showes why, as crazy as he was, we all love him!

And though I love his passion and his dedication to the sport, most of what is so inspiring about it might not work out for most of us (i.e. front running…!), but as Pre’s sister said: “Whatever we accomplish in life, if it’s solely for our own good then it doesn’t mean that much. The things you do that affect others in a positive way, those are the things that count.”

And as he makes us believe that talent is not important and that the sky is the limit, and even when he doesn’t achieve all he had set out to do, he inspired everyone around him to go for their dreams too, with everything they have!

To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the Gift.

We know that there are many goals we might never reach. And as we still strive and run hard to get them, we are inspiring everyone around us. What I like about it is the chain reaction, that as much as running gives you, it’s also affecting everybody else around you, when they see you go with all you have towards something they might not even understand. In that sense, a track can be just like an art gallery:

A race is a work of art that people can look at and be affected in as many ways they’re capable of understanding.
