Yes, in general, the crowds are the there (I want to think magically) to slow you down for a reason)…

1 – No matter what, do not weave. If you go around people to pass them you’ll end up adding sideways meters we don’t need (vs conserving that energy to use it later when we can). (you know how sometimes you’ll end up with extra mileage at the end??? yes, it’s this).

-2 People will surely move in a matter of seconds, and you’ll find a way through, just wait it out about 2 or 3 seconds, I promise you’ll find a spot to pass through


-3 if u wait a few seconds and there is no movement, no stress, just say β€œcoming through”

4- potholes and crowds is such great training for any race… we have to be in the moment and avoid issues. Racing is all about sorting through obstacles. And the marathon is full of them: crowds, space, potholes, effort, following ppl vs not following someone, water stations, nutrition, hydration…. we have to learn to be in the moment to sort through any obstacle every second.
