BOSTON—Boston Marathon race director and endurance running veteran Dave McGillivray is hosting a live interactive video chat for runners and running enthusiasts in order to raise money for the Martin W. Richard Charitable Foundation. A donation of any size to the foundation gains the contributor entry into the video chat, which will take place on April 4th at 12 pm EST, and the opportunity to ask McGillivray questions prior to the event or live during the event.
A philanthropist, motivational speaker, accomplished athlete and, of course, the race director of the Boston Marathon, McGillivray is one of the most sought-after experts in the field of running. In his talk, McGillivray will share experiences from some of his most impressive feats and provide insight on what’s allowed him to be so effective at running so many miles. He’ll also be sharing tips about making the most out of your participation in an organized running event.
All contributions to McGillivray’s campaign will benefit the Martin W. Richard Charitable Foundation, which invests in education, athletics and community in honor of 7-year-old Martin Richard, who was killed in the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings. The organization honors Martin’s message of “No more hurting people – peace.”
The interactive video chat platform, hosted on Wizeo, features hi-def video and audio, and allows the viewers to ask and vote on questions. Top questions will be addressed by McGillvray. The unique video chat experience is completely web-based, so no software downloads are necessary.
