Just like we did before my last marathon and half marathon, it’s time to place your bets again… Some of you like to get really close, just seconds away! I think this time will be super close.
Rules: pick a time and write in the comments below. Whoever gets closer, wins, If there’s two identical times, the first poster wins! Make sure if you include seconds in there too, and post before next Saturday 7 am. There’s gonna be prizes… either a clip-on running metronome, or a brooks flat water bottle, or… you’ll get to choose from a list!
Ok, the data…
My Half PR: NYC Half, March: 1:37:35 Pace: 7:27
Run as One, 4 miler, April: 28:00 Pace: 7:00
Bronx CC 10K, May: 44:32 Pace 7:11
That’s all I have… oh, and weather is supposed to be in the 60-70s…
I am not sure I’ll PR, the course is quite similar to the one I run as my PR two months ago, and I haven’t done much speedwork since, minus the two races…
GO ON! Place your bets below!!! (I will probably not look until after!)
For no real reason at all, I’ll guess 1:39:23

I’m guessing there will be a little PR for you since you are on a streak and since Brooklyn is flatter than NYC 🙂 1:36:59!

Is this like The Price is Right? Can I wait until everybody else guesses? Weather forecast looks good, 1:35:00 even, a new PR.

I’ll shoot for 1:32:49 a pretty solid PR because the course is not too hilly – just my 2 cents 🙂
Have a great race !

I’m going with the first number that came into my head: 1:38:25. It’s kind of like when you are taking a standardized test and have no idea of the answer, so you choose what your gut says without overthinking things. Good luck on the race!
