Engagement Pictures (not too late?!?)

Whatever you do, don’t miss the last pictures in this post…!

We were married last Tuesday, September 3rd (it’s been one week, celebration time?!?!) and the few days before were cloudy, rainy, sticky and all around ick. On Sunday, Richie, our proposal photographer told us that if it got any better on Monday we could try to meet early or around 5:30 pm (those are the times with the best light: sunset or sundown). It was yucky all day and at 3pm it poured… We had run in 98% humidity –and got this engagement” picture:

After the downpour and flood, at 4:30, it kinda cleared up… Hmmm. Being that the wedding was Tuesday it was almost now or never. Richie says YES and we rush. Ummmm. My hair was wet in a towel and my nails were blank. Richie had said to pack some props, so luckily Juan had done that earlier in the day, to be ready to go at all times. So, I scrambled, did all I could with my hair and our outfits… it was nasty hot and humid so please bear with us for the fuzzy hair… Man, were we SWEATING it out!!!!

We met at Bethesda and got right to it. You’ll notice how my hair gets a halo by the second!

I love the arches right in front of the fountain. I think you can stand in any corner of Central Park and get a great photo but this area is just ridiculous!

All these photos, like the one below, kept happening in between takes. I’d stay focused on the camera (I am such a pro!!!) and Juan would do this, or we’d kiss, or he’d do something funny. A lot of great pictures came out of us just not posing, minus all the ones he did waaay too funny of a face, but they’re hilarious. Notice the Central Park Loeb BoatHouse in the back… ❤

We then walked over to the Bow Bridge: gorgeous (and spring to run on!)

For the week prior, Juan wasn’t quite interested in this: why do we need engagement pictures? Well, who knows! It’s something we don’t do in Argentina, so I had no idea… I asked around, and it turns out it’s for your website if you’re doing one for your wedding… that makes sense! We had our site up a day after the engagement all with crappy winter pictures!!! Other than that, I have no idea, BUT Juan and I loved getting these!!! We looked at them a million times. LOTS of times. We just love it. Maybe it’s because we love each other and we love seeing us together or who knows what. Totally worth it! And now we get it.

Oh, besides running, we also walk. We walk nice, right?

My hair is up: it’s getting sweaty and I am sick of it.

Don’t ask: I won’t tell what happened here. I am sure you wouldn’t be surprised if you know us enough.

Okay, really, one of our favorite hobbies is to sit down in Central Park Benches. Really. It’s a sport.

And his thing: ALWAYS do a weird face…

Okay, so, those are cute, and we like them and all that. Perfect!

BUT, this is where it got BETTER! Props OUT!

The Runner vs the Cyclist!??! Well, he’d tell you he’s NOT a runner, and he’s not a Cyclist: he’s an Ironman… but for the sake of weird pictures, here is this!

Because I totally run in dresses with fuelbelts. Makes total sense!

And yes, we have the hardware to prove it!

The one medal below, that have in the middle is from the race that we met at. Cute, right?

Well, this is an ODD SHOT, so bear with me. I was thinking running man and did who knows what, and him… I am NOT sure what he’s doing but he looks like a latino soap opera actor. BUT IN RUNNING/IRONMAN GEAR!

Obviously, we are a bit ridiculous, but were having so much fun…!  Hopefully, we’ll keep having ridiculous fun moments for a while; and having no shame at all! And, maybe, we’ll be sharing all the ridiculousity with you all here. But, to keep it honest, I don’t think there’s been anything more ridiculous that we did this year that the Dizzy Bat Race. I still laugh at that… Or me trying to eat 10 hotdogs on a run… oh, well, ok, there’s many weird things we’ve attempted!

See you on the run!

  2. Love these! The medal one with the medal from where you met is my favorite. It was fate! Look at all those medals and all those races and there is the one little medal from the race you met at.

  3. These are fantastic! I like the one where you’re in your singlet, he’s in his helmet, and you’re looking at each other like- “WHO do you think you are?!” LOL!
